Outback Regional Development Organisation Inc celebrates 10 years of service to the Outback regions of Far West New South Wales, northern South Australia and south west Queensland (an area larger than Europe).
It was formed be representatives of Local Governments, industry and community as part of the then Federal Government's Regional Development Program.
Its role was to identify opportunities for social and economic development and address impediments to achieving those goals.
Outback Regional Development Organisation Inc. has as its core objectives
- to provide people living in rural and remote areas the tools to manage change.
- to provide the environment for social and economic growth.
- to provide the environment for self-empowerment.
Outback Regional Development Organisation Inc. is a grass-root managed, not-for-profit organisation. It develops partnerships with Governments, industry and community to achieve its objectives.
Since 1996, when the organisation was officially launched, Outback Regional Development Organisation Inc. has achieved a number of successes and is recognised for its dedication to meet the challenges of the Outback.
